PRACTICAL BATTERY OPTIONS An alkaline battery tray and a large 750mAh NiCad is standard equipment with the HX260S. The NiCad provides an 8-hour duty cycle between charges. Additionally, an easy to see battery shaped flag on the LCD works like a dynamic "gas gauge" indicating battery time remaining. ESSENTIAL OPERATIONAL FEATURES The HX260S has an enormous LCD window with tall, wide digits and bold information flags that are easy to read and identify. Both the LCD and keypad are backlit for best visibility at night. BUILT BETTER, BACKED BETTER Because the HX260S is built better its backed better. Is there an adapter to connect the antenna jack to a fixed mounted antenna?

Yes, the accessory is called a CAW350. It consists of 3' foot of RG-58 coaxial cable with a stud connector that connects to the HX260S and a SO-239 that connects to the ships antenna.

I cannot change channels on the radio.

The radio has a function called Key Lock. Pressing and holding the button on the left side of the radio that has a key symbol operates this feature. If the LCD on the radio has a key symbol, the radio is in the key lock mode and this key must be held until the symbol is removed.

The unit is locked up and the key lock is not on.

Try resetting the microprocessor by turning the unit off, then press and hold the WX and SCAN key while turning the radio back on.

I plug the charger in but I do not get any indication that the radio is charging.

The HX260S comes with a 110VAC wall charger. There is no red LED on the charger. In order to charge the radio simply plug the charger into the wall outlet, and plug the other end into the charging jack on the back of the battery. If the battery is completely drained it will take approximately 15 hours to reach a full charge.

How do I find the battery charge status?

The radio has approximately 12 hours of battery life. If you push the PTT switch on the radio you will get a low bat indicator when 15% battery capacity is remaining.

The radio says submersible, what does that mean?

All of our submersible radios meet the JIS7 waterproofing standard. This means the radios were tested to withstand being submersed to 3 feet for 30 minutes.
