SUBMERSIBLE Building a submersible radio is no simple task! STANDARD HORIZON utilizes a high impact non-corrosive case, display lens, waterproof gasketing, and PCB's protecting with HumiSeal moisture barrier. Engineered for unparalleled reliably, the HORIZON HX350S exceeds submersions of 3' for 30 minutes. A wet slippery hand is no problem for the HX350S because of rubber-armored grips that also protect the radio from water and physical damage. Feel the location and the action of the PTT while noticing the additional armoring around the controls and display. PRACTICAL BATTERY OPTIONS An alkaline battery tray and a whooping 1100mAh NiCad are standard equipment on the HX350S, the latter providing an incredible 10 hour duty cycle. Additionally, an easy to see battery shaped flag on the LCD works like a dynamic "gas gauge" indicating relative battery time remaining. ESSENTIAL OPERATIONAL FEATURES Visibility is enhanced with an enormous LCD window with tall, wide digits and bold informational flags that are easy to identify. The LCD and keypad are backlit for best visibility at night. The HX350S has all the U.S., Canadian, and International marine VHF channels, direct one button access to channels 9 and 16, direct access to two custom preset channels, all weather channels plus NOAA weather alert. Is there an adapter to connect the antenna jack to a fixed mounted antenna?

Yes, the accessory is called a CAW350. It consists of 3' foot of RG-58 coaxial cable with a stud connector that connects to the HX350S and a SO-239 that connects to the ships antenna.

I cannot change channels on the radio.

The radio has a function called Key Lock. Pressing and holding the button on the left side of the radio that has a key symbol operates this feature. If the LCD on the radio has a key symbol, the radio is in the key lock mode and this key must be held until the symbol is removed.

The unit is locked up and the key lock is not on.

Try resetting the microprocessor by turning the unit off, then press and hold the WX and SCAN key while turning the radio back on.

The radio says submersible, what does that mean?

All of our submersible radios meet the JIS7 waterproofing standard. This means the radios were tested to withstand being submersed to 3 feet for 30 minutes.

I submerged the radio and now I do not get any audio from the speaker.

If the radio is submersed, water will fill up in the speaker compartment preventing the speaker from transmitting any audio. This does not damage the radio and water will not penetrate the radio case. To solve this problem simply turn the radio upside down and shake all the water out of the speaker compartment, you may also have to blow out any remaining water to fully restore the speaker.

I have submerged the radio and now it is stuck in transmit.

If the radio is submersed and water penetrates the mic jack cover, water may get into the mic jack and short out the PTT on the radio. This does not damage the radio and water will not penetrate the radio case. To solve this problem simply turn the radio upside down and shake all the water out of the mic jack, you may also have to blow out any remaining water to fully restore the radio.
